Many people want to try something different during the holiday season, but can't really think of what to do or where to go and end up resorting to the same old thing. Tip 1: Edaville is a place about an hour outside of Boston where you can travel on the Edaville train for about two miles to see more than seven million lights, quite a spectacular display and something the whole family will be amazed at. Apart from the fantastic light display there is a Santa's village display, as well as a large amusement park and firework displays throughout the whole of December. There is a fee to enter Edaville, but it's worth every penny for an unforgettable holiday.

Tip 2: Another way to brighten you holiday travel would be a visit to the holiday drive through spectacular in Pennsylvania where the Hershey sweet lights are displayed. With around 600 light displays over a two mile stretch of wooded trail this is an amazing place to visit. While here you can also visit the Hershey park Candylane with more displays and rides.

Tip 3: For nature lovers a great way to brighten up your holiday travel would be a visit to Silver Springs in Maryland. Over 50,000 visitor head to the winter garden walk every year to be amazed at the 700,000 lights that illuminate the pathways within the gardens. Very friendly people with a very seasonal, and festive atmosphere can be expected when you visit this wonderful place.

Tip 4: Another place that is great to visit, and won't cost an arm and a leg is in Chicago. Each year thousands of visitors fly into Chicago to visit the zoo. This may sound strange for a holiday visit, but there are many zoo lights at this time of year and kids can have their photo taken with Santa. You can also take a ride on the Holiday Express Train. There is also a musical light show, and you can even participate in the family crafts.

Tip 5: Texas is another State where you can really brighten up your holiday travel. The state where everything is always bigger. If, your lucky enough to book a flight to Austin to arrive the first Sunday in December you will have something to remember, the lighting of the Zilka tree, which is over 150 feet tall and has more than 3,000 bulbs. There are over 40 lighted scenes with a mile long trail of lights along the path.
