The bustling city of Denver has a lot to offer to the wandering tourist, so if you ever find yourself there, make it a point to see these local attractions and sights to have something to brag when you get back home.
Places to See
Denver Art Museum – This museum does not only feature local arts and crafts, but also includes arts from all over the world. With a new wing that was opened in 2006, this has become a huge museum covering an expanse space so give yourself at least half a day to tour this.
The Money Museum – Have you ever wondered how $30 million in cash looks like? You can finally know by visiting this small museum that exhibits this much money in cold cash.
Denver Botanic Gardens – This is a relaxing reprieve after a day of shopping or touring the art district. There are about 43 separate gardens here, each catering to different plant species from around the world. You can also see a green roof here, which is a good representation of sustainable and green architectural design.
Things to Do
Brewery Tour – Denver is the home of the famous Coors Brewery. Tours are offered here, even to kids if accompanied by adults, to give an educational tour of how the brewing process is made. At the end of the tour, you can even enjoy an ice cold drink to get a taste of the finished product.
Join the Festivals – There are monthly festivals in Denver, so there is a good chance that you can catch one during your visit. Worth noting are the Great American Beer Festival in October, the Cherry Blossom Festival in June, and the 9New Parade of Lights in December.
Hike on Trails – Take your pick from the following parks and trails to enjoy the sun in the rugged outdoors: Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Winters Park, Castle Wood Canyon, and Chatauqua Park.
